Oh No!!! Why or why!!?
My profile has been converted to a fan page!!
This phenomena has been happening since 2012. Back then, Facebook wasn’t as stringent as it is now. It gave you ample ‘warning’ and time before your profile is converted to a page.
One common mistake many business owners make is to use their personal page for their business marketing.
Do you know that it is actually against Facebook rules to advertise your business on personal profile pages?
Facebook profiles are typically use
- for individual, non-commercial use
- to represent an individual person and must be held under an individual name
- to connect with friends and share updates
- can be followed — to see public updates in News Feed
Facebook terms of use:
“You will not use your personal timeline [Profile] primarily for your own commercial gain, and will use a Facebook Page for such purposes.”
Why your profile is converted to a fan page?
You may have violated any of the points mentioned above.
With the many changes happening in Facebook, and with reach reaching way below now, it is still one of the most flexible social network than others for you to run your business from (especially when your target market is here).
The only way to go is to create a fan page for your business.
With a fan page, you can refer to data within your fan page known as “Insights”where you can gather more in which can help you adjust and tweak your marketing to gain better outcomes.
You can run Facebook ads from a fan page to get more exposure and to collect leads.
If you are just starting out running your business from home with a limited budget, by utilizing FB ads, I believe you can practically run your business from Facebook.
